			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 1 at 1 PM at the Southwood Welcome Home Center (just east of Four Oaks Blvd. on Merchant&#8217;s Row in Southwood Town Center. It&#8217;s the large storefront just west of Subway).</p>
<p>This month we&#8217;ll learn from an expert, Lindly Haunani, via her new 2-DVD set, Innovations: Confident Color.  We&#8217;ll watch DVD #1 and discuss color as it relates to polymer clay. You may also bring clay and your <a href="http://polymerclayart.org/?page_id=4">kit</a> and work along with the DVD. Suggested Premo! clay colors for the first few projects on the DVD are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>6 ounces cadmium yellow + a bit extra for tinting</li>
<li>4 ounces fuschia + a bit extra for tinting</li>
<li>4 ounces ultramarine blue + a bit extra for tinting</li>
<li>3-6 ounces white</li>
<li>3-6 ounces black</li>
<li>1 ounce each Fluorescent Pink and Fluorescent Yellow (if you don&#8217;t have these fluorescent colors, Barbara will bring some to share)</li>
</ul>
<p>Note: polymer clay blocks are on sale at Michaels this week 4/$5</p>

<p>Please remember to bring your dues if you&#8217;ve not paid already &#8211; $15 per year. Benefits include participating in discounted supply purchases, ability to check out books from our (newly formed) <a href="http://polymerclayart.org/?page_id=14">library</a>, discounts on classes and events that we host locally.</p>

<li>Central Mississippi Polymer Clay Guild is hosting Karen Lewis (aka KLEW) for a 2 day workshop on October 23 &amp; 24, 2010.  For more information, visit their <a href="http://www.cmspcg.com/2010/01/cmspcg-hosts-weekend-polymer-clay-event.html" target="_blank">Web</a> site.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.oapcguild.com/Retreat.cfm" target="_blank">Orlando Clay Fandango 2011</a> will feature classes from Christi Friesen, Penni Jo Couch, and Maureen Carlson. The dates are May 19-23, 2011 in Lake Yale, FL.</li>
<li>The <a href="http://theipca.org/" target="_blank">International Polymer Clay Association Retreat </a>will be in July 2011.  Pre-Retreat Classes will be July 10-13, the Retreat will be July 14-16, 2011.</li>

<p>We will be making mini-masks using of all things, spoons!  I&#8217;ll bring a  selection of dollar-store soup spoons for everyone or you can bake your  mask flat and attach a pin finding to it.  Bring clay, canes, items for  embellishment (beads, wire, etc.) plus your basic polymer tool kit .</p>
