Serving Up Art on December 5

November 28, 2020 Meetings 0

At our December meeting, member Nancy Benham will show us how she transforms shallow box lids into attractive snack trays. Sounds like a perfect gift, don’t you think?

I like to sit on the back deck and bring out a snack on a small tray I make from Apple packaging (Apple makes the best boxes!) and Polymer clay “tiles”. The middle one and the individual tiles are silk screen with acrylic paint. The other two are made with Jacquard Powders and textured. The boxes are painted with acrylic paints then all is glazed. I think I’ll use the individual tiles as coasters. I measure the inside of the box and pencil in a boarder then plan the number of tiles given the space left. I put “grout” (made with my extruder) in between the “tiles” of the middle box which has 4 tiles. The one on the right I downloaded a free template from the web.
