October 3 Meeting: Deb Hart Demo
Our next Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild meeting will be Saturday, October 3 via Zoom. The Zoom will open at 10 AM and Deb’s demo will start promptly at 10:30 AM.
Connection details will be sent out the day before the meeting.
About the Demo
Deb Hart, known for her intricate canes and Southwest aesthetic, will be demoing two canes from her Four Cane Favorites tutorial. We’ve selected the Southwest Border Cane and Complex Feather Cane for the demo.
Additionally, Deb has given the Guild a coupon code to purchase the full 29 page tutorial for $5 (normally $12)! The code is TALLYGUILD and it expires on 10/31.
I hope everyone will support Deb by purchasing the tutorial.
Supplies List for Demo
You will need three different color sheets for the feather on the thickest setting of their pasta machine, plus black (2oz) and white clay (1oz). The three main colors of the feather should be sheets in the following sizes.
Color mixes for the demo are in the tutorial or you can select your own based on your tastes. These three sheets will be used for a Skinner Blend, so plan accordingly.
For the border you’ll need 2-3oz of a light colored clay. You can use the same color as the feather or a different color. 2-3 oz of a darker color and a 1/4 x 2” log of a third accent color or you can use the same bright color. You will also need another 1oz each of black & white.
The only tool other than standard tools is an extruder with a equilateral triangle disk. Deb uses the Lucy green disk, but any equilateral triangle dish will do.
