LeMoyne Art Education has moved into their new building at 131 North Gadsden Street. As you can see from the map below, the entrance to the parking lot is the second right between North Meridian and North Gadsden. You will go past the brick buildings; the parking lot AND door to our meeting space is on the left. If the lot is full, You can park in the small lot between the 131 building and the 111 building OR use on-street parking on Gadsden. You can walk down the ramp on the south side of the building to access the lower level. There is no elevator in the building.

Micro-Macrame with Bettye

July’s meeting demo will be led by Bettye and she will be teaching us micro-macrame. Bettye has used this technique to make earrings, pendants, and entire necklaces. It’s a versatile craft, and combines well with your polymer beads and creations!

Bettye will show six knots.  One will be a sliding knot to finish off the piece.

Supplies Needed

A macrame board: order online (JoAnn, Michaels, Amazon, etc.) or make one.

Take a rectangle of styrofoam (6″x9″ or thereabouts), cover in batting and secure the batting by covering the whole thing with a piece of cloth. Glue, tape, or pin the cloth around the sides and back. You can also use a thick piece of cork.

Straight or T pins.

Small scissors

C-Lon Bead cord .5mm (you can also use hemp, cotton, or linen jewelry cord of the same or similar diameter. Yarn is not recommended).

GS Hypo cement to finish the cords off.

Seed beads to fit the cord (Optional)

Fray-check, nail polish, or white glue to stiffen the ends of cords (to go through the beads)
