March Guild Meeting is Approaching!

Our next meeting will be Saturday, March 2 from 1-4 PM at Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center. Currently the day is set to be an ‘open’ clay day. Bring projects to work on, bring items for show & tell, and if you like, a snack or cold drink to share with the group. If you want to learn something specific – email your demo request and we’ll try to fulfill your wishes.

As with all meetings, please bring your basic tool kit and clay. We do have some pasta machines to loan for the day, but we need to know in advance.

Scarabs Class Report

Ellen reports that she and Emily had a wonderful class at Lafayette on February 9. Participants made scarabs and there were more interested students than space available. We’ll work with the office to schedule another session later this Spring.

Teachers Needed for March Polymer Class at Lafayette

As part of our arrangement with the City of Tallahassee Parks & Recreation Department, our next polymer project class will take place at Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center in March. We need volunteers from the guild to teach this class.

The project idea currently on the table is a set of four Spring-themed napkin rings. This is a family friendly project – strips of clay can be wrapped around paper towel cores and decorated with cutouts of flowers, bugs, butterflies, etc.

If you are interested in leading this activity (we need 2-3 volunteers, minimum), please let Barbara know immediately. She will work with you and Lafayette’s staff to schedule the date, purchase supplies, etc.
