December Program: Painterly Clay
There are many uses for scrap clay. Carol Roberts will show you a way to dress up your clay and give it a painterly effect.
Supplies
Basic clay kit plus the following:
- Scrap clay- choose colors you like and start blending them in the pasta machine. When you get a spot you like, take a cutter and cut a piece or two. Continue doing that until either your clay is completely blended or you don’t like the colors any more. See before photos for some examples of what I chose.
- Pan Pastels are preferred, chalk pastels will work too.
- Small paintbrush
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Paper towels
- Varnish, if using chalk pastels
- Clay blade and/or Exacto knife
