Tallahassee Polymer Clay Guild Meeting is January 5
January Meeting – New Day, Time and Location
Our January will take place on Saturday, January 5 from 1-4 PM. We will be meeting at the Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center, 501 Ingleside Avenue. The Center is around the corner from the Sue McCollum Community Center in Lafayette Park.
Plenty of free parking, we’ll meet in the front classroom. Bring a cold (or warm?) drink and maybe a small snack to share.
This month we’ll spend a little time looking at the polymer version of mokume gane, a Japanese metalworking technique. Bring other projects to work on, too. We’ll touch on using metallic clays/mica shift mokume gane, foil/deformation style, and using texture stamps and tools to deform/slice mokume gane patterns.
What to bring: basic clay kit and if you want to play with mokume gane bring: deep texture tools or sheets, metallic, opaque and translucent clays, metal foils (like for gilding), ripple or wavy blade.
If you are new to clay and don’t have a pasta machine, please let Barbara know and she can bring one for you to use.
Annual Dues
It’s that time of year again, please bring your $15 annual dues to our January meeting. Membership fees help support the guild by purchasing items for our Library, supplies for classes and events, and much more.
