Alice Stroppel Class in January

The Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild is excited to announce that we will be hosting Alice Stroppel for a one-day class on Saturday, January 6. The class will be taught in person AND broadcast over Zoom for our remote members.

When: Saturday, January 6 @ 10 AM

Where: LeMoyne Art Education Open Studio & via Zoom

Cost: In person, $95 includes lunch

Remote, $85 per person

This event will replace our usual monthly meeting. No refunds after December 29, 2023

Extrusion, Funky Pets, and Spirals – Oh My!

Alice is combining three topics into one clay extravaganza, just for us!

Extruded Canes

Learn to make small unique canes from extruded polymer clay. You can use these canes to make everything from buttons beads and pendants to cane mapped pieces.

Funky Birds, Cats, and Dogs

Take your extrusion canes, plus others from your stash and create these funky critters. Make them small for jewelry or large to decorate your walls!

Spirals & Jellyrolls

Learn how to enhance these basic canes with Alice’s expert guidance.

Supplies List

Tools

  • Your normal tools and equipment
  • An Extruder if you have one
  • A medium size double ended knitting needle, I use a size 6 Boye. Optional

Supplies

  • 4 oz Black clay
  • A few favorite canes
  • Skinner blend plugs, two or three maybe (recommended)
  • You can use your pre-made surface treatments
  • Super glue gel
  • Buna O- rings 2mm but I use all different sizes
  • Buna cord 1.5mm or 2.5mm (less than 6″ per character), ( you can order Buna in many places online)
  • For necklaces: Chain or Cable necklace
  • For earrings: Finding for earrings
  • For frames: Frame and Mat board – optional
