Faux Ceramic Technique Demo is Tomorrow

Our next meeting is on Saturday,  April 7 at the LeMoyne Art Education Center, Studio A. Meeting starts at 10 AM and goes to whenever we decide to leave.

Coffee service will be available, bring some change to feed the kitty.

Please be aware that this Saturday is also the Springtime Tallahassee Festival downtown.  Monroe Street and some other streets downtown will be closed in the morning. We recommend you approach the area from anywhere east of Monroe Street.

Faux Ceramic Technique Demo

Terri Andrews has  been playing around with a faux ceramics technique. What she has found that liquid polymer clay can be used to create a ceramic look finish.  She will be teaching this technique at the April meeting.

Supplies list for the faux clay project:
  • white polymer clay,
  • texture sheets,
  • alcohol inks,
  • Kato or Sculpey  liquid polymer (for this effect I prefer Kato liquid polymer clay),
  • cutters (for whatever shape you want),
  • heat gun (if you have one)
  • paintbrush  ( to apply the faux finish to the polymer bead or tile)
You will need something to mix the liquid clay and the ink in also.  It doesn’t take much so might be able to do it on a tile if nothing else.
There will be some liquid polymer clay available for you to try this technique.
