November Program: Rose Canes with Bettye

Betty will demonstrate making pretty rose canes from two Skinner blend variations. Perfect for beads, veneers, and more.

Supplies

  • Skinner Blend Plug – approximately 3-4 ounces of clay total
  • Skinner Blend Bullseye or Jellyroll – approximately 3-4 ounces of clay total
  • Darker clay to wrap the cane
  • Basic clay kit

Notes from Bettye

For the Skinner blends, I use a 2 1/2 inch square (or each color) rolled on my thickest setting. Then make a double thickness triangle out of that for the Skinner blend. Probably less than 2 ounces of each color. The bullseye or jellyroll should be with the lightest color in the middle.

Need to review the method? Check out the info from our June 2024 Meeting.
