June Polymer Clay Meeting is Saturday

Our next guild meeting is Saturday, June 1. We’ll be meeting in person at LeMoyne Art Education Center and on Zoom. Zoom info will be sent to members on May 31.

Our room at LeMoyne will be open for setup around 945, Zoom at 1030, and Program around 11 AM.

In person attendees, please bring your lunch, cold drinks and/or coffee cup. Coffee service will be available.

June Demo: Rainbow Canes with Kris

Kris Shotts will be here to demonstrate how to make a wonderfully versatile rainbow cane. Supplies list and instructions for making necessary components in advance is below.

This class requires preparation of skinner blend plugs for use in the class

Supply List

  • 1 ounce each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple polymer clay.
  • 1 & 1/2 ounces of white for each color above.  About 10 ounces of white polymer in total.
  • 4 ounces of black for wrapping the Skinner Blend bullseye plugs and to create triangle canes for filler.

Preparation Required before Class

  1. Prep (condition) each color for making skinner blends.
  2. Make a Skinner blend using 1 ounce of red with 1 & 1/2 ounce white.
  3. Repeat with the remaining colors.
    • You should have 6 skinner blends
  4. Condense and roll up each blend into a 1 & 1/2 inch bullseye plug (white in the middle).
  5. Condition the black and make a thin wrap around each of the Skinner blend plugs.
  6. Make a triangle cane in black, to use as filler in the rainbow cane.
